A Belleville man has been charged following the theft of money from another person’s bank card last month.
On June 26, a person using a bank machine in the city’s north end left their card behind in the machine.
The next customer at the bank machine found the card and removed some money.
This person then transferred money from several accounts and left with a total of $800.
A video of the transactions was forwarded to Belleville Police for investigation.
Officers identified the man and located him on Saturday.
Thirty-three-year-old Jordan Albert Smith was charged with theft under $5000.
He will appear in court on August 9, 2018.
