Belleville council could begin another process involving the revitalization of the downtown area.
At its meeting Monday afternoon, council will see a staff report asking that a bylaw be created to allow a market feasability and impact study to be done focusing on the area around city hall.
Preliminary design and concept renderings would also be included.
In the report the area is called the “downtown commons” and the report says it could be a centre for community events and a tourist attraction.
Should council approve a bylaw, a Request for Proposals would be issued for the work.
A budget of a little over $82,000 has been set aside for the work.
