Belleville’s Planning Committee is recommending that a large housing development planned in Belleville, just south of Bell Boulevard and east of Sidney Street, be given the green light.
The developer plans to build 51 townhouses and is seeking rezoning of the large piece of vacant land.
The plan calls for Adrian Street to connect to a new east-west street with a cul-de-sac at each end.
A total of nine blocks would be created for the development of the freehold townhouse units.
Consultant Ruth Ferguson Aulthouse told the committee, at its meeting Tuesday night, that one block of the development will be for a park.
The area will connect to the city’s multi-purpose trail.
The application for rezoning will now go to city council.
