A Quinte West woman will remain in custody on a charge of second-degree murder in the death of her former partner.
Nicole Scardino appeared via video in front of Justice Christopher Peltzer Thursday morning in her second appearance at the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse.
After a brief conversation by phone between Scardino and Duty Counsel Rodriguez, Justice Peltzer ordered that Scardino be retained in custody, in lieu of being given bail.
On June 16, Quinte West OPP were called to a private residence on West Street in Trenton where a man was reported to have been struck in a single-vehicle collision.
Forty-nine-year-old Samuel Joseph Andrews was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries.
The 45-year old Scardino was arrested in connection with the incident on June 25.
She is scheduled for another video hearing one week from today (Thursday, July 5).
