A telecommunications company is looking around the Quinte area, possibly for a business opportunity, but it’s not yet publicly clear what a recent visit means.
Belleville’s mayor first raised the visit at a meeting of the Quinte Economic Development Commission on Tuesday.
Mayor Taso Christopher told the Commission he had had a “closed door” discussion with the company, which he didn’t name.
Christopher said he would be speaking with Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison and Brighton Mayor Mark Walas regarding the meeting with the telecomunications business.
His meeting with the company officials occurred last week.
When he spoke with Quinte News Tuesday, the mayor would only add that “when more information is available I will make sure everybody gets it.”
