A strange situation at the Trenton fire hall today forced firefighters to be evacuated for about an hour and a half.
Fire Chief John Whelan says around 10:00 this morning, a woman brought in an old, three foot long artillery round she had found, so she could dispose of it.
The OPP were called and had to tape off and secure the fire hall, before bringing in the bomb squad from CFB Trenton to take a look at the device and get rid of it.
Nobody was injured but Whelan is reminding residents that if you come across an old military ordnances, or explosives, you should leave them where they are and call OPP, or police, who can get in touch with the right people to dispose of them.
