A 22-year-old Belleville man is heading to court next month as a result of an assault incident.
Just after 7 a.m. Thursday morning, Belleville Police officers responded to a complaint of an assault at a residence on William Street
A woman had been assaulted and the man was arrested.
Further investigation revealed a second incident of assault had occurred in the summer of 2017.
The man was charged with two counts of assault and breach of probation.
He will appear in court on July 9.
The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
