It was far from a normal accident scene on the Sidney Street overpass in Belleville early Wednesday night.
City police say several witnesses say two vehicles were heading east on Hamilton Road with both going down Bell Boulevard and finally colliding on the overpass on Sidney Street around 7:30.
Both drivers got out of their vehicles and began fighting each other. One of the men was knocked out cold and was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
The overpass was shut down for an investigation and was opened again at 11:30.
Forty-one-year-old Robert Lawrence of Belleville was charged with dangerous driving and assault causing bodiy harm.
He is in court July 19. Belleville police are asking witnesses to contact them.
