UPDATE @ 3:00 p.m.:
OPP in Brighton have released an update on this morning’s incident, where a man reportedly barged into a home, carrying what appeared to be a hand gun.
Northumberland OPP responded to the call in the town’s south end and the Emergency Response Team was able to locate and arrest the suspect nearby.
Area schools were placed in hold and secure and a stop train order was put in effect during the investigation, but both measures were lifted earlier today.
A K-9 unit swept the area for evidence as well and the investigation is ongoing.
Police say nobody was injured and no suspect description or details on charges were released.
Investigators say more information will come out at the appropriate time.
