A new smoking by-law is expected to come into effect in Prince Edward County Wednesday.
At its meeting Tuesday night, county council will be asked to approve a by-law banning smoking and other tobacco use within 25 metres of sports fields, playground structures, tennis courts, youth and skate parks.
Smoking and other tobacco use would also be prohibited within nine metres of recreation facilities owned by Prince Edward County.
Council meets Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock at Shire Hall.
