Prince Edward County council will decide whether or not to make an important step toward bolstering the local agricultural industry at its meeting Tuesday night.
Council will be asked to approve the creation of a Non-Share Capital Corporation.
The corporation would be used to provide grants and loans to new and young farmers to help them become established.
The legal entity could also be used to distribute grants to other groups.
Council would select three of its own members as directors in the corporation.
