An initiative by MP Neil Eillis’ Bay of Quinte Youth Council, aimed at helping vulnerable members of the community, is being deemed an overwhelming success.
The Spring Showers campaign collected toiletry items from local high schools and individuals within the riding, to be donated to the Gleaners Food Bank, Trenton Care and Share Food Bank and the Storehouse Food Bank in Wellington.
Along with hundreds of items collected from local schools including St. Theresa’s, Quinte Secondary, Nicholson and Marc Garneau Secondary, Proctor and Gamble donated 200 personal hygiene kits to each of the three food banks.
The Body Shop at Quinte Mall also provided a number of shower gels, body lotions, soaps and other items.
