The Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a Focused Patrols to reduce impaired driving throughout the city during the month of May as part of their Focus Patrol program.
The results of the May Focus Patrol Program were encouraging with a reduction of 22% of impaired drivers arrested on Quinte West roads compared to the previous three year average.
Officers from the Quinte West Detachment OPP will continue to focus their efforts on reducing impaired driving throughout the city and are requesting the public to report all impaired drivers immediately in a collective effort to keep our roadways safe.
The Quinte West OPP will continue to collect data and use analytics to implement Focused Patrols in targeted areas determined by recent crime trends.
