The City of Quinte West has seen a bit of a drop in the number of building permits issued in May, compared to last year, but the value of those permits is up.
One hundred seven permits were issued last month, at a value of just over $17.7 million, compared to 112 permits in May 2017, valued at around $10 million.
Forty-one of those permits were for new residential units.
To date, the city has issued 396 permits, valued at just over $38.1 million.
Both of those numbers are down from the 2017 January-to-May numbers, which saw 371 permits issued, at a value of about $43.3 million.
