A medical marijuana grow operation is being proposed for the Northeast Industrial Park in Belleville.
A company called Global Citrus Group is asking the city’s Planning Advisory Committee to approve a rezoning of around nine hectares of land on University Avenue, at the former Exxon Mobil site.
City staff is recommending the committee approve the rezoning, but would put a “hold” on the property until Health Canada signs off on the project and issues a licence to the company.
Belleville’s Planning Advisory Committee meets at 5:30 this afternoon (Monday) at city hall.
