Two women were arrested on Friday after a shoplifting attempt.
Belleville Police say they were called to a store in the north end of the city mid-afternoon.
According to police, the women put on clothing after removing the tags and then attempted to leave the store without paying.
A 52-year-old Belleville woman was fined for trespassing and a 32-year-old Tweed woman is facing a criminal charge of theft under $5,000.
