UPDATE @ 10:25 a.m.: OPP say the driver of one tractor trailer involved in a crash this morning is dead.
The crash between two transports happened on the westbound 401 around 9 a.m., between Deseronto Road and Highway 49.
The driver of the other truck was uninjured.
Authorities say the section of highway will likely remain closed for an extended period of time and they will provide updates as they’re available.
For now, westbound traffic is being re-routed off the highway at Deseronto Road.
Meanwhile the highway has been blocked since close to 6 a.m. after a separate transport incident.
Investigators say the truck’s brakes caught fire and the vehicle was severely damaged, but there was no damage to the roadway.

There’s another vehicle fire on the 401 westbound in the Shannonville area.
Around 9 o’clock there was a collision between 2 or 3 vehicles, including at least 2 tractor trailers, on the 401 westbound between Marysville and Deseronto.
One of the vehicles is on fire. It’s not known if there were any injuries but 3 ambulances responded to the scene.
The 401 westbound is blocked as it has been since after 6 this morning, when a transport caught fire in the same general area.
That fire continues and Tyendinaga Township’s fire department is handling that. There were no injuries in that incident.
Mohawk firefighters are dealing with the most recent fire, along with OPP.
