The Belleville Police Service responded to 80 calls for service between May 28, 2018 at 5 a.m. and May 29, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Theft charges
On May 28, 2018, at 9 p.m., police charged a 29-year-old Belleville woman with theft in relation to two recent incidents. One incident occurred on May 25, 2018 at an east end grocery store. In this incident groceries were stolen.
The other incident occurred on May 14, 2018 at the Wellness Centre. A wallet was stolen from the men’s change room while an iPod Shuffle was taken from the ladies’ change room. The woman will appear in court on June 28, 2018. A 29-year-old Belleville man was also charged with theft in the May 14 incident. He too will appear in court on June 28, 2018.
Arrested on warrants
On May 28, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., police arrested a 31-year-old Belleville woman on numerous warrants. Her charges include four counts of theft (shoplifting), failing to appear in court, and breach of a recognizance. She was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing on May 29, 2018.
