Officials with Parks Canada say the completion of the Brighton Road Swing Bridge is about a month away.
Work has been ongoing to replace the aging bridge and is expected to be completed by the end of June.
Parks Canada says the bridge has been installed and is in the open position so boats can pass through, but boaters are being asked to treat the area as a no wake zone, to protect the shoreline and construction materials.
While the contractor is working to complete the project, a reminder is being issued that the area is still an active construction site.
Ongoing work includes the building of hydraulic components, road and ditch improvements, additions of guard rail systems and a curved parking lot retaining wall.
Boaters should also be aware that through to early July mooring is not available on site, while the lock grounds, washrooms and canal paths will be closed to the public, until the work is complete.
