Quinte West council will be asked to approve a new corporate communications strategy at its meeting Tuesday night.
Recently hired Community Engagement Officer Hannah Brown says to date communications have been decentralized, coming helter skelter from individual departments.
The strategy would put more focus on communicating overall city goals rather than on specific programs. It would also involve staff receiving some media/communications training.
Meanwhile, council is expected to proclaim June 5 as Police Veterans Day.
An event will be held that day at the Trent Port Marina to honour former and retired police officers and civilian employees who had served with the Trenton Police Service, the Quinte West Police Service, and with the Quinte West OPP.
