An established business in Wellington’s core is hoping to grow, but felt a recommendation from Prince Edward County planning staff was making that impossible.
The owner of Newsroom Suites wants to expand from three guest suites to seven, but the Site Plan Control agreement was going to cost approximately $35,000.
The owners stated at a planning meeting on Wednesday night they didn’t see this as fair or reasonable as they began this project last June.

There have also been arrangements made to accommodate the additional parking spaces required by the construction of the four new suites on the property.
Council agreed to remove the Site Plan Control Agreement from the by-law.
