Police forces across the country are kicking off Canada Road Safety Week with the first long weekend of the spring and summer on the way.
The initiative runs through to Monday, May 21 and officers will be focusing on the “Big Four” causes of fatal crashes.
Drivers should expect an increased police presence on area roads as officers watch for seat belt use, impaired, distracted, or aggressive drivers.
Officers will also be increasing public education campaigns on various road-related issues as Canada Road Safety Week continues.
