The Town of Brighton could be etched in the record books, as part of the longest swim attempt in Lake Ontario history.
In July, Ottawa’s Maya Farrell is planning to swim 88 kilometres across the lake.
She wants to go on the widest route the lake has to offer, Rochester, New York to Brighton.
The 15-year-old has tried to swim across Lake Ontario before, the traditional route from Niagara on the Lake to to Toronto, however due to poor weather could not continue.
According to the Ottawa Citizen, Farrell plans to raise money for Music Heals, a not-for-profit that supports music therapy programs across the country.
