Things are on the upswing when it comes to elementary school student enrolment for the next 15 years.
Members of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board Student Enrolment and School Capacity Committee took a look their projected numbers following a presentation from Jack Ammendolia from Watson and Associates Economists Ltd.
He told the board they can expect to see seconday school numbers continue to dip for a bit before starting to climb again by 2026/27.
Director of Education Mandy Savery-Whiteway says they were aware of this and have already begun preparing for it.
Ammendolia said this school board wasn’t hit as hard as some of the other areas in Ontario when it comes to declining enrolment.
