Next week is Police Week and OPP detachments across the region are taking the opportunity to celebrate local officers and discuss various public safety issues.
Officers with Quinte West, Prince Edward County and Central Hastings OPP, along with the Canadian Forces Military Police, are showcasing and promoting a number of community partnerships as well.
A static display is being set up at Quinte Mall in Belleville on Monday May 14 and Tuesday May 15, which includes OPP marine, motorcycle and all terrain vehicles, plus a variety of handouts on things like human trafficking and other police programs.
There will also be officers on hand to answer questions about those programs, as well as those helping out anyone who might be interested in joining the police force, as a new recruit.
