OPP province-wide collected close to 700 firearms during April’s Gun Amnesty Month.
Officers picked up 267 rifles, 156 shot guns, 113 prohibited firearms and 62 other guns, which include replicas, or vintage weapons.
A total of 12,615 pieces of ammunition was also turned in to various OPP detachments.
The initiative was run by police forces across the country and in non-OPP policed areas, more than 1,500 guns were voluntarily surrendered.
In Quinte West 19 firearms were surrendered.
