Prince Edward County has seen a resurgence in baseball over the last decade and now the volunteers who help make it possible for kids and adults to play are asking for some assistance themselves.
In the last few years the bleachers have been replaced, the clay infields have been maintained and the Wellington and District Rotary Club have even donated an electronic scoreboard to make the field one of the best in our region.
John Allison appeared in front of committee of the whole on Thursday asking for $6,000 to install the scoreboard.
The scoreboard is currently in a warehouse until it can be installed.
With the installation of the scoreboard, Wellington Baseball Park would be able to host large tournaments.
Those in chambers heard the fields are in use every day from April until October and there are over 200 kids currently playing ball in the County.
Council requested staff look into this matter and return with a report as soon as possible.
