Fierce winds wreaked havoc in southern and central Ontario and southern Quebec on Friday.
Gusts nearing 120 km/h knocked down trees and caused widespread property damage.
They were also blamed for the deaths of two men — one was killed in Milton when police say a tree fell on him — the other was electrocuted in Hamilton by a downed powerline in his driveway.
Locally, over 5,000 Hydro One customers are without power this morning after the vicious windstorm early Friday night.
There are scattered outages throughout our listening area.
The largest outages around Brighton, Campbellford, and Marmora.
Hydro One estimates some customers could be waiting to late tonight or even Sunday before the power is returned.
