A proposal to bring a food truck into the Front Street Farmer’s Market in downtown Trenton hasn’t proved to be popular.
The idea was to bring a refreshment vehicle in from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday market days only to provide another attraction and
keep visitors to the market around a while longer.
Under the plan, the food served at the truck could not directly compete with other businesses in the core.
An informal survey of other food establishments in downtown Trenton showed little if any support for the idea.
Wednesday, Quinte West’s Corporate Finance Committee voted against the Saturday food truck at the market, with only
councillor Michael Kotsovos voting in favour.
Quinte West council will make the final decision on the issue.
