UPDATE @ 6:25 p.m.: Quinte West Fire Chief John Whelan says the woman who lives in a home destroyed by fire this afternoon is safe.
There was some concern that she was still in the home when flames broke out late this afternoon, but Whelan tells Quinte News, she was located just before 6:00 this morning.
Road closures remain in place on Whites Road, between Meyer’s Creek Road and Hamilton Road, as the investigation into the blaze continues.

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.: Expect Whites Road to remain closed for close to four hours as crews continue to battle a house fire there.

A section of Whites Road in Quinte West is closed as emergency personnel deal with another fully involved house fire this afternoon.
Firefighters are battling the blaze at 565 Whites Road and OPP have closed Whites Road between Meyer’s Creek Road and Hamilton Road, until further notice.
It’s the second house fire on Whites Road within two days, after a chimney fire destroyed a home at 387 Whites Road on Saturday.
Fire Chief John Whelan says the crew working this afternoon is the same one that dealt with yesterday’s blaze.
At this point there is no word on any injuries, or a cause, but we’ll update the story as more details are available.
