We set a new snowfall record for the Quinte region on Saturday April 14.
According to Environment Canada and readings taken at CFB Trenton, 31 cm of snow fell.
A total precipitation record was also set Saturday, at 33.2 millimetres, which included 2 mm of rain
on top of the snow.
Our area almost received a record amount of snow Sunday as 10 cm hit the ground. The record snow for an April 15 is 11.2 cm, set in 1944.
Meanwhile, the forecast is calling for a lot of rain in the Quinte region today, but it’s unlikely we’ll set a new rain record for April 16 as the record is 37.2 mm which occurred in 1992.
