The provincial election campaign is sneaking up quickly, but the weather has forced a delay of the official opening of two local campaign offices..
Bay of Quinte riding NDP candidate Joanne Belanger was planning to open her office at 12 Dundas Street West in Trenton this morning, but after seeing weather reports, will now hold the opening next Saturday, April 21 at 11 a.m.
Meanwhile, PC candidate and current MPP Todd Smith is also rescheduling his office opening from today.
He’ll officially cut the ribbon on his campaign office in Trenton, across from city hall, on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
PC Leader Doug Ford will be in attendance as well.
The Hazardous Waste Mobile event scheduled for April 14 in Trenton has also been cancelled due to freezing rain.
The event, set to occur at 30 Pelham St. in Trenton from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will not occur due to the forecasted freezing rain and the associated safety issues of unpredictable road conditions.
The St. Andrew’s Church beef supper in Ameliasburgh scheduled for Sunday evening has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled for April 29.
