Operating budget deliberations are continuing at Belleville City Hall today and as our Mary Thomas tells us, there is at least one thing council says it won’t pay more for.
Belleville is refusing to pay the increased costs for Hastings-Quinte Emergency Services, Hastings Manor and Centennial Manor, which range from 17% to 31%.
The vote came after council questioned officials from Hastings County on the issue.
Belleville, which shares the costs of services with Hastings County and Quinte West, says it will continue to pay its share at the 2017 level.
Operating budget debate continues this afternoon at City Hall.
More to come.
