A local hockey mother says something needed to be done, and the Quinte West community responded.
Volunteer and Information Quinte’s Tracey Legault-Davis, a mother of two hockey players, organized a candlelight vigil Sunday night, to remember those players lost in the bus crash carrying the Humboldt Broncos.
Shawn Stickler is the Lead Pastor of the Pentecostals of Quinte. He lead the vigil in prayer.
John McDonald with the Trenton Golden Hawks read a statement from the team and the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
MPP Todd Smith spoke, saying as a former junior player, play-by-play announcer, and as a hockey dad, the news was devastating.

Emcee Jim Harrison, MPPs Todd Smith and Lou Rinaldi, Fire Chief John Whalen, and Inspector Christine Reeve also spoke, along with Quinte West Minor Hockey player Cole Baird.
