Quick response from the Alnwick/Haldimand Fire Department kept a small fire contained in Northumberland County’s recycling plant, known as the Material Recovery Facility, along Highway 410 at Grafton.
The fire started in a small bunker holding shredded paper and other debris.
There was no damage from the fire and collection schedules will not be affected.
Firefighters responded at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon.
