The Municipality of Brighton is getting some cash from the province to build a new stage at Memorial Park and help support the annual Applefest.
MPP Lou Rinaldi announced $100,000 over six months, from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, to go towards construction of the stage, to enhance arts and culture in the municipality and the region.
Rinaldi also announced $14,375 to Applefest, from the Celebrate Ontario program.
Applefest is one of 198 festivals receiving support this year through the program.
