The future of Hilton Hall is still undetermined.
Following a council meeting in Brighton on Tuesday night, council decided to defer the matter as to what to do with Hilton Hall to the Heritage Advisory Committee to seek their opinion on the matter.
Councillor Laura Vink says the building has come up in discussions on and off.
The municipal office for the former Brighton Township sits vacant most days, but is used monthly by a drumming group and occasionally by the Brighton Heritage and Digital Archives groups.
Mayor Mark Walas says since the building was restored two terms of council ago, it hasn’t seen a lot of use.
Vink says she does know there are some items in the building that hold some value and would need to be secured.
Jim Millar, the Director of Parks and Recreation reminded council the building has no staff designated for that facility.
The matter will go to the Heritage Advisory Committee for their recommendations before appearing in front of council again.
