It has been a long process but the budget in Brighton has been passed.
Mayor Mark Walas says he thinks it’s a fair budget for residents.
The budget sees an increase of $20.31 a month on an average home assessed at $256,000.
The budget actually increased 4.6%, but Northumberland County’s budget (an increase of 2.2%) and the education levy (a decrease of 2.5%) both worked in Brighton’s favour.
