Robin Lunn called it leading by example.
She, along with Lynne Rochon appeared in front of Prince Edward County Council on Thursday afternoon to ask them to purchase a water buggy as a way to help reduce the number of plastic water bottle waste.
Surrounding municipalities including Quinte West, Belleville and Kingston have already purchased one of their own.
Rochon called it an opportunity and says they’d be willing to partner with council and other community groups to make this venture possible.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says it’s a great idea but they simply don’t have the funding for it this year.
Council asked staff to look into this idea further and a report to come forward at a later date.
They also proclaimed March 22nd each year as World Water Day.
