Robin Lunn and Lynne Rochon are asking council in Prince Edward County to show just how important water is to them.
The two are members of the Council of Canadians Quinte and they are asking council to declare March 22 each year as World Water Day in Prince Edward County.
They are also asking council to purchase a mobile water buggy to attend community events.
The buggy would be similar to the ones in Belleville, Quinte West and Kingston and would provide a place for people to refill water bottles.
It’s estimated 65 million bottles end up in landfills in Ontario annually, even with recycling programs according to the Council of Canadians.
Lunn and Rochon will make their presentation at Shire Hall on Thursday.
