The Wellington Dukes live to fight another day.
35 saves from Jonah Capriotti and a shorthanded, game-winning goal over half-way through the third period from Andrew Rinaldi proved to be the difference in a 3-2 Game 5 victory to prolong their season and their series with the Newmarket Hurricanes.
Jr. B call-up Bryce Yetman and Zach Uens also tallied for the Dukes, who were outshot 37-33 by Newmarket.
Former Duke Josh Supryka stepped up with an assist, as did Daniel Panetta and Teddy McGeen.
With the series now at 3-2 Newmarket, the Dukes now need to win a pivotal Game 6 in enemy territory. That goes Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Ray Twinney Complex. If the Dukes can win that contest, Game 7 will go Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Essroc Arena.
CJBQ will have the broadcast if necessary, starting at 7:20 p.m. for Prinzen Ford Sales of Bloomfield.
