Three points from Filip Chlapik and a 36-save effort in goal from Danny Taylor helped the Belleville Senators break a substantial home losing skid with a 4-3 win over the Utica Comets Saturday night.
The victory was the B-Sens’ first at the Yardmen Arena in just over a month, snapping a seven-game slide. They last won Feb. 16 over the Toronto Marlies.
B-Sens head coach Kurt Kleinendorst says their hard work and solid play over the last three weeks has paid off.
After a tough performance Friday night for Chlapik, Kleinendorst says he liked the resolve from his top young sniper in returning to form last night.
Daniel Ciampini added a goal and an assist, and Jack Rodewald also scored for Belleville.
The Senators are off until next Friday, when they host the Toronto Marlies once again. CJBQ has broadcast coverage beginning at 6:50 p.m. for EasternOverhead Doors and Deerhaven Farm and Garden.
