Belleville City Councillor Kelly McCaw is expected to be running for the party nomination for the federal Conservatives for the Bay of Quinte riding.
Nominations opened Thursday March 15th and close on Thursday March 29th. The deadline to purchase a membership is April 5th.
Quinte News contacted Kelly McCaw and asked her if she had filed, or plans to file papers for nomination. She says she has not filed, but she did not crush the rumours either. McCaw says if she is nominated, it is not likely she would be running for Belleville City Council this fall.
Anyone who runs for the Bay of Quinte Conservative nomination must have 30 signatures of members in good standing within the party. Although a date for a membership vote has not been finalized, it is expected to be sometime at the end of April.
Sources tell Quinte News that McCaw has the papers to file, and will likely be doing so next week. Those details were not confirmed by McCaw.
