A way to get more people active in Prince Edward County was met with support on Thursday.
Julie Miller’s proposal for a walking track around the Prince Edward Community Centre was very well received by councillors during their Committee of the Whole meeting.
Miller called the project her baby and says she has the support of the Picton Recreation Committee.
Her idea would see two loops, one measuring one kilometer in length and the other measuring 400 meters.
Mayor Robert Quaiff says he feels it’s a great idea for their residents, because not only do they have a very active community, but an active aging population.
The idea was approved by council to move forward and they would like to have staff take a look at the idea.
