A longtime inmate has died while in custody at Warkworth Institution.
Sixty-six-year-old Muri Chilton died of apparent natural causes following an illness while serving an indeterminate sentence since 1977 for Attempted Murder and Second Degree Murder since.
Chilton’s next of kin has been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances and contact the police and the coroner if
required.
