The Belleville Fire Department would like to remind everyone, when setting clocks ahead one hour before going to bed on Saturday, March 10, remember to also change smoke alarm and carbon monoxide (CO) detector batteries.
Fire Prevention Officer Rob Davenport also recommends testing smoke alarms at least once a month and replacing the alarm immediately if it doesn’t respond properly when tested.
He also says you should replace all smoke alarms when they are 10 years old.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact the Fire Prevention Division of the Belleville Fire Department.
