The Belleville Police Service has started releasing weekly traffic offense statistics with the goal of improving safety on the city’s roads.
For the week of February 26 to March 7, officers with the Traffic Safety Unit handed out 65 tickets.
Nineteen of those were for having invalid plates, 16 were for speeding and 11 tickets were for violations at intersections.
Five drivers were stopped for having either no license or a suspended license.
TSU officers also laid three charges for not stopping for school buses, which carry a $400 fine and six demerit points.
Drivers are also reminded to keep their license plates visible and in good condition, or you can face an $85 fine.
