If you’ve noticed the city buses seem to be a little fuller these days, you’re right.
Manager of Transit Operations Paul Buck presented the figures for the first two months of 2018 at the Transit Operations Review Committee meeting on Wednesday night and ridership has increased by 16.4% over last year.
He told the committee they actually ran out of adult passes in January, which has never happened before.
In January, there were 3,104 riders per day and in February there were 3,724 riders per day.
This puts their number of riders so far this year at almost 200,000 already, according to Buck.
By the end of February last year, there were 166,000 riders.
