UPDATE @ 3:40 p.m.:
Belleville Fire officials say nobody was injured in this morning’s fire on Emily Street.
Firefighters from both stations one and two responded to a 911 call around 6:30 this morning and found smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home.
The lone occupant was alerted of the blaze by a passerby and got out safely with his two pets.
Investigators say the home suffered extensive damage, estimated at close to $200,000 and the cause remains under investigation.

Belleville Fire responded to a house fire Friday morning.
Around 6:30 am, emergency crews were called to Emily Street, near Station Street and Cannifton Road.
The blaze brought in numerous fire members.
A source at the scene says the house was up for sale.
One person made it out okay, as did a few pets.
We do not know the extent of damage at this time, or the cause of the fire.
There were hot spots for a few hours, however, crews knocked down most of the flames within an hour.
Emily Street between Oak Street and the end of Station Street was closed to traffic for hours.
