More than 50 firefighters were part of a barn blaze battle in Stirling Rawdon Wednesday afternoon.
Around 3 p.m., crews from Stirling Rawdon, Trent Hills, Marmora and Lake and Centre Hastings were called to 3804 Springbrook Road, west of Highway 14.
A barn, which housed livestock and feed was fully involved when crews arrived.
Fire Chief Derrick Little says the blaze came very close to one of the homes near the barn.
Little says some animals perished in the blaze, but many were able to escape.
Damage is estimated at more than $400,000.
Three generations live at the house that’s on land with the barn.
A cause has not been released yet, and the fire is still under investigation.
